I've been working at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival for 6 years doing security.
The minnesota fest is prob the biggest show in the tristate, if not the midwest.

Is there A fest in Illinois? I didn't know there was one going on right now.
Usually the rennies that work at these shows travel from show to show, and most of them are staggered so the rennies have time from the end of one, to get to the next one and setup shop. I've got a buddy that travelled with the fest for 2 years doing that.

If you were willing to drive the 6 hours from chitown to MPLS, i'd help you out with your cost of admission

But yeah, if your into fests, and ever wanna come out, you'd prob enjoy the show.

We had a really good time, but we did go with other couples who have small children.

Y'all remember all those old folks who still play online games, and also collect Magic The Gathering cards? They all dress up and go to the Renaissance Fair.
