Winter beater... 95 Cherokee
I have a neighbor who has a 95 Cherokee 4.0 for sale. It's the square body style, 4dr, 4x4, with cloth seats. Has about 95,000 miles on it. I might be able to get it very very cheap. Anyone have specific things I should look at on it? I mean beyond the transmission and stuff like that. Do these things have electrical problems? They said sometimes the wipers have just stopped.

I own a few cherokee's. They run forever if you take car of them. You can beat on them all you want just do simple maintence. Check the rear main seal for the engine cause they are known to leak. The water pumps are known for going out along with the timing chains having alot of slack. Make sure all the vacuum lines are in good condition cause they effect the way these vehicles run in a big way. Also check the exhaust manifold for cracks as they are known to crack. They are very easy to work on. I have done a 4.5 in lift with simple hand tools. Good luck and have fun. Once you lift it you will always wanna go higher. Not saying your gonna lift it but most people do because its cheap. Check out naxja.com for any other info you need on the cherokee.

I believe it's selectable 4wd.
Yeah the only thing that concerned me was the part about the wipers just stopping. I don't have a long commute so if that happened when I first started driving it it would not be a big deal.

These were the cheapest to lift because you could do the front to rear spring swap and gain 4 inches for about 250 bucks.
