Alright guys...I need some suggestion on freight shipping (if anyone has any experience). I've got the tranny sold, but not sure who to go with to ship it to Iowa. Any thoughts on who's the best/most affordable?

I personally have always used UPS and they usually give me a decent price and i've never had a problem with them and I am sending bulky things via ups quite frequently actually. Hopefully someone else can chime in with experience from another company

i shipped a tranny to Lousiana, i put it on a 48X20 pallet, bolted it down with some allthread, and some copper plumbing strapping and wrapped it up in shrink wrap real good and took it to UPS. ofcourse mine was a 5 speed out of a 4 cylnder s10 and it only weighed 130 lbs. it cost 130 bucks to ship it to there.

long story,
went to jegs about 2 months ago, and ordered the SLP lid, the guy told me it would be in like 2 weeks, so cool. i wait 3 weeks and no dice. so i call up there and they say its going to be another 3 weeks. so 1 week after i call up, i go up and order my headers, cancel the order for the lid and put that 120 bucks toward my headers. the guy told me if it comes, it comes. he couldnt get on the line with SLP to cancel the order. or he needed some bullshit form that he didnt have. so whatever. well i got my money back and put it toward my headers, and guess what. my lid came today. so im going to take it back to Jeg's just to be a good citizen. i could sell it off for about 100 bucks, but my luck it will come back to bite me in the ***.
