The last time I went to traffic school they told me if you do 40 over it's a big deal. I thought they said it was a big fine and up to 1 year in jail. Also something about it not just being a moving violation?

Good luck and slow down in traffic!

LOL, if you're able to do 40+ over the speed limit, I certainly hope there's no traffic.

I think the whole jail thing must be up to the officer's descretion. I've known a couple guys here in IL that were doing well over 100 in 55mph zones and they didn't get hauled off to jail. Guess it depends on the cop?

Its a class A misdemeanor, in the same boat as DUI and battery, max punishment is 1year in jail and $2,500 fine, looking at it i;ll feel lucky if I just have to pay $500 said and done and end up with court supervision, only time will tell though

How fast were you going?

My attitude, if I speed, I have to be prepared for the consequences. I've been arrested once for speeding.

Trust me I know how you guys feel, just got a speeding ticket last week. I know I'm probally gonna take a bashing for this but I'm glad there's cops out there who will write tickets cause if that wasn't the case we all know there'd be idiots out there (who shouldn't be driving) every day topping out there cars and getting into wrecks with inocent people.

The whole point is that some cops are out there to look out for people's safety and sometimes they do have to go hard on us.
