No one wants a beatiful warrantied C5 Corvete Coupe, Vert, or Z06 for his girlfriend, for $25K, believe me they are out there with GMP warrantys also! MAn, many people use a C5 for a year round driver, put on some decent winter rubber and your good to go!

What are you guys all communists?

Just to clarify...they no longer make a GTP Grand Prix. There is the Grand Prix, Grand Prix GT (supercharged model) and GXP (5.3 L V8). I drove a G6 GTP Coupe (3.9L 252 V6) for a few days while my car was being worked on. It was a great car. Electric remote start, XM, Onstar, Heated Seats, Sun Roof, leather and power. Plus I think the car looked pretty good too. Great car with already great reviews. There is a reason so many people have them.

This is me being a dorky G6 owner, and a GM internet manager. For 07 there are 4 engine opotions:
2.4 4 cyl 169hp (base motor)
3.5 V6 224hp (base V6)
3.9 V6 240hp (this is in the GT performance pkg)
3.6 V6 252hp (GTP only, also only with 6 speed auto)

Thank you! You are correct! I had always though that the 3.9L was the GTP engine. It also looks like they will be dropping the GTP name for the G6 as well and making it the GXP...is this right?

Have had my G6 since January of last year. Not one single problem with the car. Change the oil and rotate tires. That is it. I put about 17k miles on it in the last year. The '06 models V6(base) only has 200 hp and it is still fun to drive. The factory installed remote start is a nice feature too...summer and winter. As the motor broke in the gas mileage kept going up. I average right around 29 mph now and has stayed steady. I have had it as high as 32.6 mpg for a tank of gas in the fall, no a/c, cruise control on the highway. Fun little car to drive. Paid around $18k for it and trade in on it is still around $14k. Sticker price was around $22k if I remember correctly. I plan on doing an exhaust and airbox on it this spring to help with the gas mileage and give it a few more ponies.

do to my gf pickieness and HI ALI......... good to see you over here.

first yes she does like the grand prix, g6 and g5, but to many people have them and she wants a car with more character.

Secondly the car she is trading in is a dodge avenger, the biggest POS. So far the left front wheel has fallen off while driving(recall issue), and the tranny has gone out.
So dodge is out of the picture.

right now she likes the Eclipse, yes its a great chics car. Also she does want a vette or a convertible white TA, but she does not want rear wheel drive through out the seasons.

So even though the Impezza has 4 doors and she doesnt care for that, but she likes the quality, awd and the look..

Yes if she could afford a vette, cts-v, xlr, that is what she would buy.

UPDATE, some idiot in a ford explorer rearend my gfs car on tuesday. Not sure if the car is totaled yet, We will however be keeping the damage check and using it for the down payment towards her new car and trading in her now wrecked avenger.

Good thing my gf walked away with only a sprained neck. The freaky thing is, I was on the cell phone with her when she was hit.

Everyone thanks for you opinions, she has been checking out all the cars, but I think PSJ is right, subaru for the win!

Go here to see over 50 1997 or newer Corvette's for under $20,000 all within 300 miles of where I am. Nice one with a 6 speed for $15,000...There is also a 94 Dodge Viper on autotrader in Oregon for $18,000
