WORLD FORD CHALLENGE WELCOME LETTER

America’s love affair with the Ford automobile is legendary. Our culture and heritage are defined by it. WFC’s history becomes a part of the culture that encompasses the people who live it. After 9 successful years, WFC welcomes you to the 10th Year Anniversary of the World Ford Challenge!

This year’s event is being held at the home of the U.S. Nationals. O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Indiana is a state of the art facility and is home to over 100 annual events for your family to enjoy. The 10th year anniversary will be the biggest WFC to date! We are expecting a record number of Ford race cars, Ford show cars, Ford manufacturers, and, of course, Ford-loving fans. We want to thank you for making this year’s event a part of your racing season. Let’s take a closer look at some of the activities you can expect at WFCX!

World Race Events has provided the Ford Racing community with the one annual race that is a “must do” for anyone serious about Ford Performance. For 2007, we will be offering our fans over 750 drag race participants, 1500 car show entrees, and over 50,000 fans jamming the state-of-the-art Indy facility. As has been stated many times before, the World Ford Challenge has become the standard by which all other Ford shows are judged.

However, I want to assure you that we have worked tirelessly to make sure that your WFCX will be a special and unique experience for each and every fan that attends. The most important part of making this happen is that beautiful, spacious, and professional setting that is O’Reilly Raceway Park. In a town that eats, breathes and lives racing, this professional venue is proven to hold the amazing sights and sounds which envelope the annual crowds of thousands of Ford fans that make up the World Ford Challenge. As for performance, O’Reilly Raceway Park is prepped for the biggest NHRA event of the year…the U.S. Nationals. With this being said, please be assured that the racing surface will be in tip-top shape for record setting performances in every class at WFCX.

On May 17- 20, 2007 you will watch as hundreds of the top Ford racers from around the world battle it out for the richest guaranteed cash purse in the history of Ford Drag Racing. Over $150,000.00 will be paid and this brings out the top Ford teams and rewards the winners with cold, hard cash. Besides that, it turns up the pressure, forcing the round by round racing action to be hot. This gives the World Ford Challenge fans the most competitive races they will only see once a year – at World Ford Challenge 10!

Pro Mod 5.0 is the top draw at WFC, and this year we’ll pay $40,000 to the winner of this class with dozens of the fastest Mustangs in the world battling it out in the 6-second zone at over 225 mph! Chuck Samuel, Doug Mangrum, Les Baer, Billy Glidden, Randy Eakins, Donnie Walsh, Jr., Tony Gillig and John Nobile have won past Pro Mod 5.0 championships. Who will join them in 2007 as the undisputed king of the 10th year anniversary of the World Ford Challenge?

Continuing our tradition as innovators in the Ford industry, this year we will have 3 Outlaw Classes, bringing out the top competitors in NMRA, FFW and other sanctioning bodies throughout the world. Pro-Outlaw this year will feature the madness of “run what you brung” and run it on a 10.5W Tire! Brian Carpenter took home the win last year with a blistering 6.99 @ over 210 MPH in the Pro-Outlaw class! Street-Outlaw will remain the ten-inch tired freak show and one of the wildest classes in all of heads-up drag racing! And for all you Drag-Radial fans, Outlaw Drag-Radial is back due to a attendance at WFC9! Expect most of the biggest names in drag racing to be attending. Dan Millen, John Urist, Timmy Lynch, Brad Brand, Mike Calvert, Sammy Vincent, Jim Blair, Kieth Szabo, Mike Trimandilis, Gary Rohe, Don Burton and over 40 Street Outlaw teams will be on hand racing for the grand prize in one of our Outlaw classes!

We will also be offering you the most creative lineup of classes in Ford Drag Racing - classes like Wild Street, Pro Lightning, Ford Diesel Challenge, Cobra Challenge and Open-Comp. In all, we will be offering our WFCX participants 14 awesome classes to participate in. The WFC Technical Director has masterfully adjusted our rules so that with minimal modification, racers from all Ford sanctioning bodies can compete at WFCX. This means that you will see match-ups of your favorite Ford teams that will only occur once this year, at 10th Year Anniversary of the World Ford Challenge!

The difference between Gateway International Raceway and O’Reilly Raceway Park is the fact that all of the events will be able to be staged in the same location. You will be able to walk down the midway directly into the pits as you make your way through to the Auto-Show. O’Reilly Raceway Park’s huge size allows all of the WFC events to be located in the same areas of the park. You will witness the massive Mustang & Fords / Mustang Monthly Auto-Show Spectacular (with over 70 classes of competition). Our Auto-Show registrants will be able to show their car with the same comfort of having their own numbered parking space. Also, one of the biggest draws of our event is the monstrous manufacturers’ midway. This WFCX midway will allow you to interact with over 200 manufacturer’s representatives to make sure you find that go-fast part for your Ford. We have also expanded the WFC souvenir merchandise area, so please take the time to pick up your Official WFCX Memorable “10th Year Anniversary” T-shirt to remind you of this special event.

In addition to all of the events, World Race Events wants to give a little back to all of our loyal fans. If you did not know already, every fan has the chance to win $10,000 in CASH at this year’s WFCX Anniversary. By purchasing a 2, 3 or 4 day spectator ticket, you are automatically entered for a chance to win. No additional purchase is necessary and giveaway will be held on Saturday, May 19th before final round of qualifying at 6:00PM on the starting line. It’s time our loyal Ford fans get a piece of the pie too!

It has been an amazing nine years of Ford Racing that has lead us up to this event. I want to thank each and every one of you for your part in making the WFC so special. As a racer, car show participant, sponsor, or fan, you have done your part in making Ford Racing History. And, together, we will shape the future of this great sport with larger crowds, record-setting performances, and good times. If this is your first experience with the WFC, welcome. I think you will quickly realize why they call the World Ford Challenge the “Super Bowl” of all Ford events. Now, on with the show!
