Any one in the medical field, I have a question...
I was snowmobiling on Saturday, fell off and hit my head on the ice. (No, I wasn't wearing a helmet, I gave it to someone else because we were one short) All I remember was falling and hitting my head. My sister in law said I was on the ground for about a minute or two not moving but then I got up. I have had a severe headache since then, been lightheaded, and my vision has been blurred off and on since then. Is it a concussion? I hate going to the doctor but if I HAVE to I will. What do you guys think?

yeah dude, i did the same thing back in the day after dunking a b-ball. wasn't moving for a bit and huge headache. i had a concussion and was told not to go to sleep for awhile and I had to have someone stay awake with me to make sure of that. They were VERY adament about that.
Big thing, YES go to the doctor. Your head/brain/etc.. is the last thing you'd really want to be ******* with. Arms/legs big deal, haha, but head is a different deal

matt it all depends on how bad you hit your head. i got nailed a couple times playin football and all the medics did was check out my pupils and do some reflex tests. then gave me an ice pack and said dont sleep for a while.
if your still havin headaches i would go see a doctor.

I didn't hit it real hard (like enough to cut my head open or anything) but I do still have the headache. I haven't had the blurred vision since last night. I will probably go tomorrow after work.

I did something similar a few years ago while ice skating, fell busted my head woke up in the lobby 15 minutes later not remembering WTF happened, huge headache and puking like mad.
Def. get to the doctor and make sure you're all right, if you weren't puking chances are you're PROBABLY ok but you don't want to leave these things to chance.

I am a psychologist, doctoral area of concentration was neuropsychology. Go to a ER room immediately, tell them about the accident and LOC (loss of consciousness), duration, nonmovement, etc. The vision and headaches are common side effects from blunt trauma. It is a very touchy thing, and they may wish to do scans (MRI, CT) as well as do some neuropsych testing (some basic quesitons on memory, math, visual-motor functioning). Don't mess with this kind of closed head injury. It can cause lots of future problems.

matt what are you a ******* idiot, you should have been in the ER that nite or the next morning at the latest.
dude i was in the ER TWICE last week for snomobile wrecks lol. i had 83cc of blood drained from the hematoma on my left left today from the first wreck, and my left shoulder is fractured(i'm still riding my sled tho)
A-wear a helmet at all times you assclown
all your MD is gonna do is ask questions, make notes and then refer you to a specialist. might just want to start with the ER
