Hilarious Story (this is not related to anything ls1, just a good story)
As many of you already know electric rates have gone up a ton. My grandpa, who lives alone had an electric bill of over 520 dollars - outrageous! After he spent some time thinking on it he checked with 2 laywers to make sure it was legal and his master plan:
He went to the bank and had them order in 52,XXX pennies for him to pay his bill with. He is unrolling the pennies and dumping them into four UPS boxes, taking about 100 pennies out to bend them so they dont all go through the coin counter (bent penny=wrinkly dollar, if their machine doesn't count it nothin illegal about it). He is then duck taping the four boxes, weighing in excess of 300 pounds together with a 1/2 roll of ducktape and the UPS man will deliver it on a dolly.
Just a pretty ingenious plan i thought, cost him an extra 48 bux for shipping, but he's trying to prove a point about these crazy electric bills. CILCO can suck on that
Tell me what you think as to possible adjustments/suggestions to make the plan better as he is not mailing until fri.

What the hell is he doing to run up a $520 electric bill? I know the prices have gone up, but even if his rates doubled, that means he was paying $260/month in the dead of winter? Damn, my house has two furnaces, and my winter electric bill isn't anything close to that.
I like the penny idea though.

how in the world did he have that high of a bill. I saw something on the news about certain people getting bills in the 10's of millions for private residents. I think it was in Texas. Maybe the electric company made a mistake. Still it is a pretty good way to deal with the problem

hahah tspence45 your right on. I found out why his bill was so high. Everything in his house is electric, including heat. He did this b.c he was able to get some sort of an all electric deal through cilco, but when cilco raised their rates they also threw out his deal. He used to pay 250 a month or somethin like that, so understandable he was pissed about the extra 280 a month

I'm bringin this one back. His story is making its way to a conclusion. Since my grandpa has paid his bill in pennies hes been on over a dozen tv stations, and radio from virginia to missouri. here a clip of Comedy Centrals Colbert Report where he won 'Alpha Dog of the Week.'
