Default Indy machine shops

Can anyone recomend a REALLY GOOD machine shop in the Indy area?

I know a few people that have gone to M&M Automotive on 5 Points and were happy...

Pretty much blowk work only.

Golen is not local but they want

Block work:

Oven Clean, Shot Blast & Mag Block
$80

Bore & Hone Block
$300 ($37.50 a hole LOL)

Deck V-8 Block
$80

Align Hone Main Line
$150

OUCH! I want to say M&M charges $15 per hole for bore/hone....

A buddy of mine had M&M build his 383. With the crank, machine work on the block, and built/blueprinted it was $800. Was allready a 4 bolt main though and I am building it myself. I don't trust anyone else.

I can't access LS2.com from work but I just asked this question over there and got a bunch of responses. The thread should be on the first or second page of the Midwest section.

Are they more of a regular engine shop or race engine shop?

You mean put a forged bottom end in? Any good machine shop can do that.

I've had work done at Quinlan's, Indy Cylinder Head, Steve Schmidt's Race Shop, M&M Automotive. I've not had any machine work related problems with any of them. Schmidt's was the slowest, but their Pro Stock stuff comes first, understandable.

I take everything to M&M Automotive now.

Thanks Barry, I will give M&M a call. If you know Joe Barry (blue S-10 with the 383) M&M built his motor and he is happy with it last I asked.

My car get back from being caged on Saturday

Just called M&M today and they get my buisness on customer service and people recomending them.

Very nice guy and told me what I wanted to know very quickly.

Told me for FULL block prep and stroker clearance if I decide to do that along with 4 bolt mains (with them supplying it) it would be between 1,200-1,300!!!! I about pooped my pants when he told me that. I thought it would be a lot higher.

Told me he would flow my heads for $60 and it would not cost very much to get more porting out of the heads or intake (allready near full race ported heads)

This car will be scary fast........ compared to last year that is.

Im going local Grand National KILLING
