Harley Guys in Ohio
now that its starting to warm up a little bit, i hear bikes out everywhere!
I'm looking to get my first bike, and I don't want one of those damned crotch rockets like the rest of the 20-something year old guys usually want
I was looking to get a HD, but I don't want saddle bags or anything. Just a stripped down bike, just the basics
BUT I don't want it to be one of those stripped down old bikes that look like a little dirt bike
What should I go looking for? What should I expect to spend? I don't really want a new bike since this will be my first one, but i don't want a POS either.
Thanks guys!

just what i'm looking for!
wonder how that thing sounds? think she'd rumble?
i've always heard not to get a loan to buy a bike, since then you have to carry full insurance on the bike which would be insanely high. BUT this was coming from a kid with a rocket...so maybe a HD would be cheaper??
advice?
Anyway...The Streetbob is a very nice bike. 96" twin cam & 6 speed, comfortable position...overall looks bad ***. I ride an 07 Night Train. Same engine/transmission. Blacked out theme, just from the softtail family. I put 600 miles on it Saturday and have nearly 5,000 miles on it since February. You will love it. The H-D's are a little pricey but there's nothing else quite like them. If you want a Harley in your heart, don't settle for something else or you will be disappointed. As for insurance, I have a clean driving record and my 12 months full coverage with progressive was $515, $1000 deductibles though. I hate paying high prices for insurance, so if something does happen, I opt to pay the deductible instead. It's saved me money over the years. Since I'm new to bikes, so what should I look for, as far as year vs. price vs. mileage?
I don't know what is considered "high mileage" on a bike
Edwardswb - How does that 96" sound? I'd like to put a set of pipes on it has a nice deep rumble. is that motor big enough to do that?

i don't think a new bike would be a good idea for a first bike though. Or are the HD's harder to lay down than the stupid rockets?
might go look at them
