Check out my fancy plate insert. F@$k you photo radar.
Picked it up yesterday... This photo is unaltered.
Some people have brought up the legality of my plate insert, or lack thereof. To these people I say: How's it any different than the rest of the car?

^ lol...I thought that they read clear when viewed by the naked eye?
Anyway, I always thought those were a cool idea, but if its illegal, oh well...they gotta catch you first, lol.

nice.. i've had a chameleon plate cover on my TA since I bought it (so about 7 years now)
Only had 1 cop say anything about it... and never gotten in trouble for going through Ipass before I got Ipass lol
Keep in mind though... these things only work when the camera is up high at the proper angle ... those photo radar trucks probably won't be affected

Here in NY we don't have many of the light pole mounted cameras like they do elsewhere so there really is no benefit to having one. They have some in the bigger cities like NYC and Albany and such but they aren't nearly as common like out west and down south.

Apparently those are not illegal at all. I got a ticket once for a red light in Chicago and that really pissed me off so when I got to work I found a spray that does the same thing to the plate but reflecting the flash from the camera and overexposing the picture. I haven't blown any lights to test it but I also did not get it to blow lights. I just wanted to make sure that I am not $90 poorer next time I go through a yellow and it turn on me.
**** those cameras, pure
But according to the website for that spray, it is not illegal! Neither are the covers like the one you have. I don't remember the details but they said that there have been a number of local tv news stations that have tested it and it works, and found that there is nothing illegal about it, Yet...
My favorite part is when you get a ticket for $90 and then you send the payment to the dept of revenue! Not to the police but directly to the dept of revenue! So this is all just about making money for the city! **** that.

In Chicago I am pretty sure any plate cover that alters the appearance of the plate is illegal, even if it is just tinted. Also, the stop light cameras take 2 pictures, one with the flash and one without so many of those things dont help.

In chicago/burbs, they will pull you over just to pull you over. So whats the diff? I want to say 90% of our vehicles will NOT pass an inspection if done for some reason or another. Be it tire tread depth or what... The way traffic laws are, your pretty much garenteed some type of a ticket if your cars modded at all, and the cop wants to be a dick.
BTW Nice plate cover, spiffy if it works.

Yeh, but most I-pass cams are at ground level and the truck cams aren't very high either.
But yeh, ANY license plate cover is against the law in IL even if it is 100% crystal clear. I've got the ticket to prove it.

I hope the cameras are at plate level... Can't read mine at all from the side. The guy I bought it from is a member of sixspeedonline that had a Gallardo at the DG cruise night. He had a bunch of the covers in his car. I asked about them when I saw the cover on the gallardo and a Sportec 911 Turbo.
Hi Rich, what's up?
