i'm not sure on the grinding part, never heard of that. all ls6 intake installs i've ever done folks have made sure to get the right coolant pipes from a dealer or elswhere first. that would be my recommendation, I don't like to "rig" stuff.
here would be my suggestion. my fiance and I just bought a house in rolling meadows. we move this comign friday the 17th, so things are kinda hectic for me. if you guys all want to wait till I get in the house, I took that whole week off to get settled in. I wouldn't be opposed to holding an Ls6 intake install day for everyone who wants to get it done. we used to do stuff like that back in the day and it was fun and everyone learned something and got their mod done.
that would also give you all time to get the right parts for the job. i really don't want any part of half assing anything if i'm gonna have a bunch of cars over and once doing intake installs at once

You can see if you can find the ls6 coolant line here on the board, if not you can get it at a dealer. basically there's no hard line under the intake like you have now with your stock one. the rear two are blocked off and then on the front its just a cross over pipe, what you have stock you have hard line going under the intake connecting all 4 points.
do you still have all your EGR stuff connected even with those headers? If so, youll need to get a block off plate for the passenger side header since that EGR stuff will go in the trash, LS6 intake has no provision for it.
