Default who wants to tig weld a cage in my car this winter??

I need to lose my 6 point steel and get a moly 10 point in the car. while i can afford to pay a chassis shop and so forth, i don't want to

was thinking i'd rather order the wolfe kit and see if anyone in here or anyone you know that is a good tig welder would like to weld it in for me.

Anybody know someone?

I know someone but he won't do it for free, but might give a good rate. Let me know if you want me to ask him.

i'm not a big fan of wolfe after using two of them in different cars. i will never get a prebent cage ever again. you end up spending more money fixing the mistakes they make. if you need a cage made for your car let me know.

heres a pic of my car, i also have x brace on it if you want to see it

here's some closeups of tig work on different materials too.

I'm not a fan of pre-bent stuff. A custom bent cage is the only way to go...You pay the same money in the end, but the custom cage ends up looking 100x nicer.

You can get an 8-point for 13-1400, or a 10 point for around 2 grand.

In my last car it had a WOLFE 10 point. I bout the cage and had some local guys do it.

In the end even after getting a killer deal I spent almost as much or as much as I would have to have a chassis shop start from scratch.
My cage fit good but not as good as a custom one.

Im taking my car to Burkhart in a few months.......

I emailed Burkhart at both their email addy's on their site and nobody bothered to reply. I guess they don't like money.

my first thought was my buddy Nile over at S&S Chassis. his work is incredible but even as a friend he's still pricey, I think i can do better elswhere..

oh..part of my problem, and those that know me will attest to this is I don't leave my car ANYWHERE. I get pretty crazy about that. The only place its been for any amount of time is Hacker Joe's shop to get painted twice but I've known him 10 years and trust him alot.

that has alot to do with my wanting it to be done in my garage. my preference is someone I know doing the work, not the car just being stuck in someone's shop with some guy using my hood as a place to put his lunch and ****.

No good builder is going to make you a cage at your house.

You have to call them. Everytime I have called Dave he has called me back the same day.

Talked to him last week as a mater of fact.

No offence but you get what you pay for. I cheaped out on my last car and got it back with scratches.
Never doing that again, good luck to you and remember its your life inside that cage.

Well I guess you should make a post on Craigslist in the Personals Sections.

"Looking for a cage builder. Must be clean, drug and disease free, and know how to treat me and my car well. Would require a few dates before I let you go to work on my "stuff". I like a candle light dinner and smooth jazz. Send pictures of your work, clean shop, and body. I will only respond if you fit the profile."

Spend time on that site much? hahaha

Most of the GOOD guys don't have clean shops, they are to busy to clean.

That I do not agree with. A clean and organized shop means the work being done will be clean and organized. Every dirty shop Ive seen usually has half *** work.

Phil I am going to lay my ***** on your chair in the morning before you get in. Think about that when you are sitting down in the morning.

I agree, you get what you pay for, and nothing on my car has been done half *** BUT, some people like to charge a good bit more for the same quality work. Hence, whenever I can't do something myself on this car, which has been only the shortblock, the cage, adn the paint, I look around and be sure I'm getting a good price and good work done by someone that I believe will not harm the car and thus cause me to hang them from their *********.
