Im less an Fbody now for a couple months which really sucks. Man i miss that beast. So im looking for a really nice roller if anyones got the hookup. This new job i got is real nice in the funds department. What im planning is a world record setting car like texas speed has... the 9s somewhere with a H/C stock bottom end. Just wanting to see how close i can get being the average joe.

My neighbor just got his motor for his GTO finished this week. they should ship it to us from eric down in texas next week so we can get on the install. Looks like its going to be the battle of the GTOs now just like back in the day!

Haha we still have to build a rear that will hold this damn thing being a M6 car but soon as its finished im sure we will be around.

on the rear end note,

ive been back and forth a million times on a ford 9" swap, he can do a stub and axle upgrade and be damn near bullet proof.

gforce took his into the 9.5xs with the stock diff. then with an eaton upgrade for another stack, you wont break it.

just some food for thought,

stubs 600, axles 900, eaton diff, 800 or 900

just my .02 cents. lol

and with big power, he'll wanna ditch that drive shaft before to long as well. but with a 9" he would have to no matter what.

probably about the same with the 9" but will loose the love of the irs, lol

 

mini tub what??? thats all i heard lol. No he going to stay IRS i belive. Driveshaft first thing though. when he was making 505 at the wheels i thought i was going to let go. This will be alot more than that so im sure it will explode on the dyno let alone on the road with any traction.

 

no it was just NA but fastest car ive been in, loved it lol. nate is at basic but hes letting his brother drive it some, and he didnt even really lay into it!

well traded really, for a tbss but yep camaro is gone! if i miss it ill sell the tbss and get into a 6 speed car. im diggin the current ride though quite a bit, all but the gas mileage...

I wish I would've got the chance to give you a ride in the z before I took it apart. it was badass. About like Nates car on nitrous. But he's just a lil faster on N2O, than me on motor.

I sell and work on rears everyday. I would not waste a dime on that 7.5 crap if u have any power.

 

I think he's talking about the IRS rearend thats in the GTO's. Not the stock F-Body 10 bolt rearends! ???

Not sure what the dimensions are on the GTO rearends, It could still be a 7.5 knowing GM. lol

 

i am james, yes the dana rear in our car is not the greatest, but it has gone 9s repeatably without to much issue. the major problems for us are our axle shafts and inner stubs.

easy upgrade with some Gforce stage 2 chromoly or there nasty 300m pieces.
