Window Tint Ticket....
Last night i got a ticket for tinted windows in my Toyota. It is a $75 ticket. I know that tinted windows is an Equipment Violation, I asked if i paid the ticket will it go on my insurance. He said for 90 days then will drop off.
My question is will this raise the rates? Whats the deal?

I got one of those this time last year, and I just paid it.... Not a mover, and state farm didnt raise my rates. You could beat it by taking it off and taking pictures with you to court, or finding a car that looks like yours and taking those pictures to court, but thats on you.

My friends have had them and i guess it doesnt affect their insurance rates since its not a "moving" violation. Most of the time if you talk to the city attorney they'll drop it if you prove you've removed the tint. I'd never remove it, but it was an option

Loud exhaust, no front plate, and tint will have no effect on your rates. None of that ever did for me.

That is BS! I got a tinted window ticket on Thanksgiving! Went to court two weeks ago with pictures showing I removed the tint. They stuck me with the ticket and told me it was considered a moving violation!

Whatever you do DO NOT wait and goto court...pay it ASAP... I got a tint violation on I-355 on Thanksgiving weekend by a state trooper. I had the option togo to the Courthouse and pay it before the courtdate but I didnt make the time for it so I went to court and plead guilty. They slapped on a court fee so my $75 ticket turned into a $180 fine!!! BS!!!! I been to court many times in the past and never had to pay a court fee....I guess Dupage is starting to do this now......and I consider myself lucky cause all the other people that had actual moving violations like speeding tickets that plead guilty with supervision were paying $280+ !!!!!
And btw window tints is an equipment violation......Doesnt go on your insurance or hurt you in any way....besides your wallet
