yep like i said i go to straightline but i have also gone to speed inc. for my first mods and first tune and they treated me with the most respect for a first time customer. i can't see why a big shop like that would rip someone off when they have so many cars in and out of there making them money anyways.

Yeah the front cover was pullerd and a compression test was done and all 8 cylinders came out in between 185 and 190 after one turn. and the shop said that they didn't feel the need to do a leak down test with those kind of compression numbers. that i should have it tuned again and see what happens... so i will and if they same thing happens then i will come out and admit that i was wrong and appoligize for everything i said but until then what i said and think of this situation stands where it is now

So your telling me a compression test has dick to do with a leak down test? How about you go to a shop that knows what they are doing!!!

If that is normal, what's the point of it? Just because I've never seen or heard of a car randomly jumping between 14-35* of timing at a steady idle.(It does idle pretty smooth and conisistent)

For us i'd say were plenty stable, the shop is busy, we shipped parts to 25 different countries last year, some of which went by cargolux for example, so decent volumes indeed.

For all you guys knocking everything and are ACE mechanics, why dont you build and tune your own cars then instead of taking them to shops to get work done. I though you had 3 ASC mechanics?? Where are they now??
So anyways how bout thoes bears?? We got Grossman back and let go a few guys.

I'm no LS1 pro tuner, but timing jumping from 14* to 35* at idle doesn't sound right at all.

The car was is closed loop(if it makes a difference) and in a 70* shop. I've just never heard of anything idling with the timing bouncing around from 14-35*. Your's looked much more consistent, it seemed to stay right in the low teens most of the time. Eric's car was just very erratic with the timing.

To solve all the problems.. give stretch a call at straightline.. put it on the dyno and go from their.. you say the car is mechanically sound then there shoulfnt be a problem.. Now letsget off te subjest..

I think this thread should be closed now. I mean, who's shop sells more, who fucked up, who did this. My cam is bigger than yours, blah blah blah... Lets get it figured out, without the dick swinging eh? Absolutely no good can come from kicking it around for days on end.

Exactly Jerry! I am so sick and tired of people on here that think because they have 10,000 posts and a cammed LS1 that they know everything and are expert mechanics. Out of all of the heads and cam cars out there, I guarantee I would rape 99% of them with my daily driven stock internal car. Hell, I know of two or three built 383 stroker cars in the Chitown area that are slower than mine. You want to know why? Because Bill and I built it ourselves and did it the right way and didn't listen to all of the dumbasses on this ******* site. Some of the **** that is posted in here, esecially in the internal and external engine sections, blows my mind. It is a miracle that these people can even tie their own shoes.
