Sad part is the first is one of my best friends; though I understand he does some stuff without thought, and the second one I attended school with. Tool 2 walked the living hell out of that 3 gen.

I have to also add that he was up there all night "Trying to find timing" with out a timing light.

Well, the kid in the Jeep is a plain redneck. But as a person he's pretty cool. The guy with the 3rd gen I've always understood is mechanically retarded; so I don't really care to be too much of a friend with him.

The kid in the Jeep is one of those guys that are willing to lend a hand whenever, and I'm willing to help him whenever. He just...makes some choices automotive wise that makes me wonder what's going on in his head.

I can't stand being over there, I go there to visit about two people, the rest of them drive me insane...

Since it sounds like most will be un-available this weekend, and the others seem open to anytime, lets plan on Friday or Saturday night after this weekend (Oct 17th or 18th).

Nate, I am open to your idea.

Ramone, I'd really like to do a Hella 90mm projector swap for my fog lights (or if you can fab something up easier, possibly for my headlights) in the Formula. Given that I only have roughly a month left, I'll need to get it done soon.

Also for anyone interested, now that the new motor mounts are in, my Edlebrock strut tower brace no longer fits with my intake sitting a bit higher. It's in great shape (thanks to Big Rob), and I'll let it go to any of you guys for cheep before I put it in the FS section. PM me if anyone is interested.

J-rod, I'm doing my headers in aluminized steel and having Swain Tech coat them with ceramic. I'll do the tacks and my buddy will be running the beads, he doesn't have a TIG though, so it'll be MIG'd. I've seen his MIG work before, looks damn good, just not very useful for stainless.

Ben,

I'm in whenever for a gathering, as long as I'm in town.

Do you guys have anyone in mind that you could suggest to do a good custom roll cage for an honest price? There's a specific application my buddy needs an NHRA cage for and he's wanting to know of a few people so he can decide who he'd like to have do it.

I say bring the party to Memphis, since I will be there too! Congrats Ben, too bad we won't get to meet up before you leave. Good luck!

What kind of car?

If it's something "normal" you can probably pick up a pre-fab cage for a lot less than having one made. S&W Racecars makes cages that are nice for the majority of cars, and then you just need someone to do the trimming and welding. They usually have a longer than necessary hoop (trim to fit) and all the other bars and notched and bent, but a little long so that you can adjust them.

Remember, to be proper it needs to be DOM tubing.

Contact Joe. Theres a local guy who did some welding for me (did a great job as well) that Joe and Shawn know. He can do a custom cage.

I don't think I want the cruise to go quite that far . Thanks Josh. I am also sorry I will now miss your wedding. FWIW, since I have been married, the Air Force has made me miss every single wedding anneversary I have had. It's almost fitting that I am leaving on my anneversary.

Guys-

Looks like Power Tour 2009 may be coming close to the Fort again. If you have not done at least one leg of it in the past, it's definitely something you should look into! It's definitely worth it, and you don't want to miss it!

This is what I got from the Hot Rod Magazine forums:

Day 1 - Madison, WI
Day 2 - Racine, WI
Day 3 - South Bend, IN
Day 4 - Warren, MI
Day 5 - Columbus Oh
Day 6 - Somerset, KY
Day 7 - Bristol, TN

This is just the rumored stops, so it may still change!

They are just cruising around NE Indiana it looks like if they are going from SB to Warren. Has the power tour even come through and stayed at the fort yet? I would like to hit it up sometime if I could. I read about it when I was younger and my father had a subscription to Hot rod.
