Default Slow motion

I have 00 formula with a lid, Lt, non-cat Y-pipe and magnaflow exhaust system. This is my first automatic car and I have to get adjusted to it but whenever I'm running along between 25 - 30 mph and punch it, it does not seem to have very much power until I reach 50. Out of the whole the car performs great all the through or if I hit it at 50 it does great. Is this just the way the autos' are or do I need a stahl?

if you punch it and it is only around 2500 rpms, its not going to have as much power as if you punched it at 4000 rpms, also depends on the gearing in your car too. you probably have a 2.73 or a 3.23 it takes longer for them to climb then a 3.73 gear or 4.10.

The dreaded dead spot. This is normal... A stall would definately help that. Until then try to avoid running from a low roll, or you have to manually shift the car down to get the RPMs up.

Will a stall eliminate this problem completely and if so how much will a stall with labor and a trans cooler run me, I'm looking for a 2600-3000 stall? Also how much will the stall hurt my gas mileage? Thanks again everyone.

I think you probably have a 2.73 gear out back. You need to check your doorcode on the car and it will say either GU2 or Gu5 I believe and hopfully yours says Gu5 if it says Gu2 you have a 2.73gear out back and if its GU5 you will have the 3.23s out back. I have basicly the same things you have mods wise and my car is a complete dog from 40-45mph. Also if your looking into a stall dont go any lower then a 3200. If I were you I would look into a 3600+. It will hurt your gas milage a little bit driving around town but its not to bad. Once your on the highway at highways speeds its all the same and make sure you get a Trans cooler

Depends on the stall you go with Vig and Yank are two of the best, but there are other more economical options. As for installs, any trans shop can put them in, but you will need your trans shift points and pressures adjusted.

I do have the 3.23 gear, do you have a stall and I thinking of going with a 2800 stall but I have heard this is not big enough. My car is street driven only and will never see a race track but I want to get rid of the dead spot. Do you have a stall ? I do not want to roast my street tires of the line but I do want my power. Get a 3600 stall and a set of drag radials and you will have a mid 12 sec car

If I go with the 3200 stall, what will be the difference be in the driveability of the car. How much more gas will I have to give it when at a dead stop? What about the gas mileage, realiability and please address this one, taking off from a dead stop, I only run on the street with street tires, will I spin too much coming of the line? I mainly race from 0 - 100, don't tell the law. The car does go on some 7 hour road trips about twice a year.
