need to ship my LSX block...how???
ok, i work at a commercial site, so loading/unloading isn't a problem. i've got a LSX block i need to ship to HKE in Houston, TX, i live in Joplin, MO....the CHEAPEST quote i've been able to get is ~$350.
i bought this block back in march of this year. i paid just under $140 to have it shipped from Indianapolis to Joplin....WTF???!!!!!?!?!?!
it seems to me like it can be done cheaper, i mean, i can DRIVE there and back for $350 or less and deliver the damn thing myself

got it shipped out yesterday. FedEx freight came to my workplace and i loaded it up for them. $140 even from joplin, MO to HKE in Houston.
turns out the liftgate fee was what was driving the price way up. we found out they have some sort of apparatus at HKE they use for loading/unloading so the liftgate wasn't necessary.
FWIW someone pointed me towards R&L Carriers, i checked them out. same price as FedEx AND THEY HAVE NO LIFTGATE FEES....
