+1 on the corps being a brotherhood. I'm not sure anyone can come into the corps from another branch and keep their rank. I've never heard of anyone coming in as more than an E3. I've known E5s in the army that came in and basically had to start over.
I've decided to hold off on my active military career, possibly continue the reserve program, and get my masters degree. Hopefully with that I can be considered for either an active duty officer program in the AF, or a really nice civilian federal job where I can purchase my active duty time towards retirement.
If nothing else bro, go back to school on the post 9/11 benefits!
