Default Been 3 months. Still no word...??

Hey Guys,

Ok, so I'm enlisting into the Marines. Was going into the Navy, they approved all waivers, but disapproved my traffic ticket waiver.

So..Marines. They approved all the waivers, including the ticket waiver.

Now. I scored a little off on my hearing test. I was 5db too high in the 2000hz range.

Navy approved my hearing waiver. Bumeds sent me to a specialist to get a consult, etc. They passed it.

Now. Everything was fine and dandy. Recruiter sent my package off, I was going to go swear in 3 months ago. And then be in DEPS.

Well. They said no. We need our own consolt, and cannot use the Navy's waiver. We need our own.

Now, like I said, its been 3 months, I have been waiting to go to MEPS, then go to a specialist to get my consult.

Anyone know what the dealio is? Now, my recruit said, its not just me. 75 other candidates, have been waiting also with special cases like my own.

Just curious if anyone might happen to know why this process is taking so long?

I'm still motivated and such, but I am getting impatient with waiting.

Have a buddy that is on recruiting duty right now and another in the drill field. Both have said that due to the economy the military is getting a flood of new recruits. This may be the reason for the longer process.
