Just got internet today. Well its really nice here, the locals are really friendly. Cars are weird, very small. Not many American cars at all. Its been cold here the past couple days, tomorrow is supposed to get up in the 60's I think. My barracks room kinda sucks but its better than the desert I guess..lol. looking for a car now.

The tower eh? Ive been at kadena for almost 2 yrs now, with another 2 to go. I'm a radar tech, so I normally stop in the rapcon, but I make my visits to the tower every now n then. You'll like the island, plenty of festivals going on, the locals are cool with the americans. Get out there and try their foods, plenty of water activities, hiking, etc.

After a year here, I am ready to go back to the USA already..lol. Did manage to go home on leave a couple times, one for my 1 year anniversary, one for emergency leave. 1 more year to go on this island, then I retire. Looking foward to it. Been here a year and have had 3 cars already Still here on Kinser, we took best mess hall in the Pacific last summer, waiting to hear the results of best mess hall in the Marine Corps. Anyone in here stationed on Kinser?

You take any of the "Battle of Okinawa Tours"? If you like the Corps history kinda of stuff, you'll love that. What about any chances to go to the mainland? IF you can visit Sasabo, pas on that. Nagasaki is pretty cool to tour around in and the locals are friendly there. Tokyo is that big city kinda stuff and the locals won't be as friendly. Maybe it's a "Don't nuke us again, we love you now!" kind of thing in Nagasaki! lol Not too many people can say they stood right below where a nuke went off!

I recently PCSed 6 months ago from 3D MLG MP Co. The one man you're gonna have to be worried about is SgtMaj Didas on that base. He doesn't drive, just walks around that base, correcting every rank on the tiniest thing. If he sees a fucked up Marine, he'll chew the *** of every person near by, too.
Big problems over there is the fighting at the e-clubs with the junior marines, and then drunk driving and domestics with snco's.
Oh and island lockdowns are never fun...don't let your marines fool around with the actual underage japanese girls...

Mhm, from Sep 09 to July 10. And before that, CLB4 over on Foster. Still think Kinser is the beat base, just because of location alone.
