Looking for help for marine in Jacksonville NC
My best friend's daughter just arrived on base in Jacksonville NC and she is driving an LS swapped 1990 OBS Chevy. It seems to be running crappy under light load, light throttle. I am looking for a fellow techer than can or knows someone that can check it out. I just don't want her to have to go to a cooky cutter mechanic and have him stare at it like a monkey looking at a spaceship. Thanks in advance for any help or pointers.

Sorry, I cannot help with the mechanic but, What is a 1990 OBS Chevy?
And why would anyone send someone far away, in a modded vehicle, who doesn't know how to fix the said modded vehicle on their own?
BTW, most bases have an Auto Hobby shop, where you can rent almost anything a normal shop would have for a few $ an hour.
I Do truly hope all works out well for the Marine!

She's a MARINE, I thing she'll be OK. There is just as much chance of the old motor to have issues and she likes her truck (obs means old body style, 1990). It will be easy to work on and diagnose comlared to the Throttle Body motor that burned up. The LS1 hat is in there is stock. We actually found a guy with great reviews that has the truck now. The internet is a powerful thing. I'll update hiw it goes, good or bad.
