Default Anybody stationed at Shaw AFB, SC?

Got notification of my assignment today... any LS1tech'ers stationed there? Any info anybody could pass on would be great:

Good areas to buy a house?
Local drag strips?
Nearby speed shops?
Emissions laws?

Congrats man, happy to be leaving Cannon I assume? Work with a few guys that have been at Shaw, don't know any details on speed shops or anything but they all really liked the base.

Eh, yes and no.

Yes: that I get to leave Cannon... No: Because my RNLTD is in November and I have to try and sell my house between now and then.... so yeah I can feel a little bit of stress because of that!

Holy crap short *** RNLTD.... guy I work with got Lakenheath orders like 4 months ago and has an RNLTD of Jan 31, how the hell did you get hosed with such a short one? I'm leaving one way or the other, I'm airframe specific so I will get outta here, but I'm pretty sure I'm going with AEF 8 to Kunsan next summer =/

Heh... they just might decide to leave you there when the jets leave.

The reason my RNLTD is November is because it's a Humanitarian assignment.
