Mine is going towards paying off my bills ($7k and counting down) and hopefully getting the car under $10k. After that, a five day vaca to Hawaii to relax, and then the rest is going to help with the loan for the womans ring.

exactly about how much do you army guys gettin paid down there. I went to one of those frg meeting things and the dude from finance blew. He skipped all the important stuff and just rambled. Oh im not married either if that will make it easier. Also I heard you get an additional 1k for every month over 12 months, does that still stand with deployments now at a min of 15 months? thanks

No it doesnt stand for any new units entering theater (until after 15 month mark). All units in theater at time of change will receive the $1000 a month as before.

In baghdad I get (extra)

$3.30 or so a day (per diem, but you never see it until you get home, when you receive it all in a lump sum)

$225 hazardous duty pay
$100 hostile fire pay
$250 seperation pay (only for married folks)

And no fed or state tax (still pay medicare and social sec)

I think the 1k per month is applicable to everyone who's over the 12 month mark. The way our battalion commander put it... deployments are labeled 15 months, however unless circumstances require otherwise, a 12 month is still standard. What does that mean... he's full of ****. 15 month standard because no one is coming home early

I am currently in Iraq. I reenlisted and with my bonus I purchased and paid off my 2001 Trans Am wich I picked up when I went home on leave. Since I am single, with no house/kids or other expences I am able to put most of my money away. So I am going to get a house and furnish the house. Then do a little bit to the car ie: new stereo, sub, line lock, shift light, new set of tires and gas!! Oh since I been here for more than 12 months, I get that extra $1000 and its nice!

I got back in January. During my deployment, I paid off all my credit cards, upgraded my computer, and I bought Strano revalves, strano springs and strano swaybars. I also got a Racetronix fuel pump kit that Im finally putting in, along with an automatic bottle opener and a few other toys.

Haven't been deployed (yet), but I'll be re-enlisting soon, and I plan on using my bonus to pay off my car and get a new rear-end. Then I'll start saving for a Procharger kit.

When I get back the list will go as follows.

1. 9in or 12 bolt w/ 4.10s
2. Built t56
3. some type of heads/cam/intake package w/ tune
4. sfcs, front/rear sway bars, front a arms
5. DRs for my spare salad shooters. lol

I'm setting up my Navyfed to pay two carnotes a month while I'm out.
