Congrats on graduating devil. Just show up to work on time, PT well, and do what you are told, and you will be successful as a junior marine. That's not all of it, but that will cover most of it. If you end up getting stationed with the Landing Support guys at Camp Pendleton on Del Mar, let me know. One of my best friends is the company gunny there.

Most of the air guys wear red patches on thier cammies. It dates back to WWII. There are two conflicting stories on them. The first claims that a lot of the flight line guys in WWII were jumping on the combat lines and abadoning thier jobs on the flight line, so the planes would land and there wouldn't be anyone there.
So they put the red patches on so the line company officers would get them off the line and send them back to the airstrip to work the flightline.
The other one claims that the line company officers would just start grabbing random marines for replacements, and they kept taking the flightline guys, with the same consequences. The red patches were supposed to be a sign that the line officers could not have them.
Now I think they just use them to designate who is authorized to be on the flight line so you don't have random Marines wandering around getting in the way.
