Getting a re-entry code overturned/changed
I was medical'd out of the Army, active duty, back in 2004. The medical condition I was put out for, has since gone away(I outgrew it, which is the typical result of my particular case).
In any event, I was put out with a re-entry code of 4. Not really helpful in getting back in. In the summer of 2009 I will be eligible to re-enter under Army medical regs, and am strongly considering a reserve/guard spot(make too much to go active, and have a family now).
Are there any Personnel folks or recruiters in here that have any advice on the matter?
Please don't respond if you don't have anything helpful or useful to add.

Hopefully I won't have to get a politician involved, that would really suck.

I was discharged for the same thing but it was like 2 siezuers when I was under 2 years of age and was misdiagnosed from restless leg syndrome. I'm told that I have to have a physical to get back in, but you have to be approved to get that physical. If your paperwork happens to fail on the waiver as mine was you'd need the help of a congressman to get back in.

Straight from AR 680-29
Congressman can't help you on this one. Try though if you want . Best bet is visit your local recruiter, he or she will give the straight and narrow.
RE-4 - Individuals separated from last period of service with a nonwaiverable disqualification (refer to AR 601-280). Ineligible for enlistment except as provided for in paragraphs 2-7c and 2-7d. (See waiverable moral and administrative disqualifications.) Disqualification is nonwaivable

601-280, with regards to re-enlistment eligibility, also says that if an individual meets medical eligibility requirements listed under 40-501, then they're good to go. Which I will meet.....
This **** gets confusing. I am going to have to schedule a day and go and see a senior recruiter about this I guess.
