What's the original look like? Did it need to be HDR to bring out some missing details?

It brought out the detail under the car.

Obviously turned a bit to straighten out the picture. A little cropping done as well.

This is the 0 exposure...

I am TERRIBLE with PS...and for some reason, I am having trouble learning it.

The right situations...HDR can be a good thing.
I do not like the 'overdone' ones myself.

I am learning it, playing around with it. My best pictures (and sharpest) tend to be single shots with just some light adjusting of the RAW.

You're on the right track. HDR is a tool to use only when you must. Not a way to develop all your shots.
