The Resale Value on a real 68 SS>03-04 Cobra/Late Model LS1 anyday
No brainer here! **** the Title and the bare body is worth atleast $7k atleast where i'm from. Get it put a slick paint job on it and watch people gauk everywhere you go. I understand your car has to be freaking sweet, but you have to look at the "collectable" stand point here. I mean yeah maybe 30, 40 years from now your car would be the one to have, but are you going to keep it that long? Right "now" 1st gen Camaro's are one of the most sought after muscle cars. Just think about it. The only exception I would have is if the car is cut up real bad, then no I probably would not unless you were planning on doing a resto mod.

Why is the in the Multimedia section?

Anyway, your Camaro isn't that special regardless of what you may think. It's not worth any more than a Camaro of the same year with different options. 4th Gen's will probably never be worth anything anyway and if you think they will, that's a gamble on your part. Provided that the '68 isn't hacked to ****, you should trade. If you don't want to, let me know where this guy is and I'll see if he has interest in a Trans Am.

i say trade for the 68... experience something new you know? would def be bad *** driven in a old school camaro. now if it was a 69 with those mods i would take that in a HEARTBEAT!!! but i would still take the 68. trade him and you can always trade or buy back.... you never know?

if its possible can you post some pics of your car and the 68? or at least yours. wanna see what condition yours is in...

Between my 68 and my C5 Z06, i still like my 68 more, granted the C5 is the daily. As long as the body is solid and rust free i say trade for the 68.

HotRod? That charming little kid in your sig is the creepiest goddamn thing I've seen all day.

I'd shoot for the '68, but follow these fellows' advice and watch for rot. Look long and hard for anything that's going to be a headache to fix.

Frame rails
Check the lower rear quarters, in front and behind the wheel
Drain valleys all the way around the trunk
Around all window trim, especially corners
Floor pans
That panel the rear bumper mounts to

Those are the spots that showed a little trouble on my 2nd gen. Being that this car's 40 years old, use a magnet liberally and go over it with a fine tooth comb. It's very easy to make a clunker look presentable, especially with primer. This could be a hell of a deal or a headache from hell. You've got a perfect car, so make sure you're considering one that could do you some good.

For ***** and giggles.. Any idea what this car originally came with?

I would definitely trade your car for the 68. With 44k miles on your SS it isnt anywhere near going to considered a collectors car. A procharged big block would be insane.

If you are worried about the motor and tranny in the 68 tell him you want to see run at the track. If it stays together then trade.

Keep them coming fellas!
His car is worth 2x your car even if it was flat pink. If it is legit i would do it in a heartbeat.

you had better check the vin on the 68, because if its not nubers matching as far as the rest of the car goes minus motor, its not worth that much. If its built really nice then it might be worth more than you car. These guys are making it out to be like any 68 camaro is worth more than a 4th gen camaro, and thats not so. You have to wonder why a guy would give a 68 camaro that has over 40,000 into it away for a car thats only worth 12 - 16,000. I personally would research the car , and ask for some paperwork or proof of what it is.
