Do you mean ring and pinion gears? The OEM 3.13:1 ratio gear set was used for both the 8-second ETs and the 241.8mph mile run. SW ran 234.5mph off the trailer, hitting the rev limiter in 5th gear. They switched to a slightly taller rear tire and raised the rev limiter to hit 241.8mph.

Next season, they will be raising the rev limiter higher, and will be turning the boost up from 37psi to somewhere in the high 40's. Hello, 250mph...

SW quote from Supraforums:

"What can I say that hadn't been already said. You guys know that I own and have owned and driven alot of different cars out there and there is no other car out there that can do what these Supras can do. They are simply incredible platform to work with."

"It was interesting to see the look on the TT Viper guys, TT Ford GT guys when a 14 year old Toyota just put it to them."

Here is the 8.47ET video if anyone is interested. Same suspension was used in the standing mile run, just different settings...

I'm sure a Camaro will beat that 241.8mph speed next year.

And this is why I firmly believe the MKIV Supra to be the best all around car ever made. And the 2jz to be the best all around engine to ever be made. IMO it doesn't get much better.

I thought the record was set by Bill Scott's AA Blown Fuel Lakester at 257mph?
Or am I thinking of a different event

I'm just curious as to why no LSX cars have gone this quick

A C5 Z06 is more slick (lower drag coefficient) then a Supra and I'm sure an LSX could be built to 1300+whp. It would be difficult, but not impossible.
Is there little interest or something?

well i think the LSX guys are more into the 1/4 etc... A well built LSX with a bit of boost should be able to crack off some great MPH. but 241 is no joke at all. Seeing as how the LG Z06 only hit 210. Great run by SW!

I've been doggin on the supra recently, especially talking to another member here.

But the more I look into them for what I wanna do in the future, the more I'm tempted to pick one up.

Either that, or a C5 FRC.

It's not as easy as it sounds. The fastest 6 speed 1/4 mile record is a 7.9X, by an Underground Racing built Viper. SW just recently ran an 8.05 @ 185 in the same car he ran the 241.8 mph @ the standing mile.
