My New Camera Arrived Today!
If this should be in the Racers Lounge, please feel free to move it mods. I figured since it's Photo related and has photos, it should be here?
I was like a 10 year old on Christmas morning when I picked it up from the Post Office today
Main & backup side/side & one of my Case Logic Backpack with 'em stored away (Crappy 2MP camera phone shots, yay!):
I can't wait to get out there and start using it for all it's worth!

New one is on the left. It's a "decent" camera ;-) Nothing special... lol. I like the Magnesium Alloy body. It's VERY weatherproof which is why I purchased a Pro body and not a Prosumer body.
Yes, yes.. more HDR's.
'Cause I am into photography, I have the problem of typing Camera and Camaro and sometimes I notice I add the "e" to Camaro, then quickly backspace to correct. But it's bugging me!

I got several specific books for my type camera, along with a dvd for d200 that helped. You should do that with the d2X.
It helped me strategize settings before going out to shoot. A lot of the times you miss a shot because of camera settings.

I have a D200 and some came with plastic body and some with magnesium. What is with that? I know I got the magnesium body, because it gets colder and has a different texture.

In regards to the books. I have a BUNCH of online sites saved that have tutorials, every possible thing I'd want to know about the camera and functions, etc. The best way that I learn has really been from actually going out and shooting with the camera. I like to practice with random nature shots (birds, landscapes, trees & flowers, other plants and animals, etc.). This usually gives me good knowledge of the hands on. The good thing about the D2x is that most of the key functions I need, all have their own buttons on the outside (versus my D70s where they are embedded in a menu somewhere).
Thanks for the info

Haha, it's POURING rain and I am at work. By the time I get home it's dark out. And I don't have a Macro lens to mess with or I'd be doing some of that! I'll have some this weekend. I am hiking on Sat in the rain ugh.. and going to Thunderbolt Raceway in NJ to watch the owner of my company race his F2 car.. and take TONS of photos of that. This'll be the 2nd race event I've shot, with the first being the NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway here in PA:
