I have a flip book of that car that was step by step of the top coming down, I got it when they first came out. It was cool.

It takes care of so many problems for a lot of cars! Much easier to maintane
I'm not planning on getting rid of it though.. thats the reason i keep it out of the salt. i'd like to have it around a while

I agree with the OP, i never even knew they made a hard top vert version of the VR-4.

Those cars are really cool, sexy lines, great looking machines. The 3.0 V6 is a great engine too, dual overhead cams are nice.

Sometimes I feel you guys don't understand or appreciate the Import cars just because it doesn't have a V8. That V6 is a great engine, and the Japanese car culture is almost parallel to that of the early hot rod days in this country.

whats so great about an fbody?

they are a dime a dozen. Theres a lot less 3000gt's than there are f bodies. and they arent much heavy then our 3600lb cars. The new camaro will weigh just as much.

Not a huge fan of that one specifically but I love the way normal 3000gt vr4's look. If I were really rich I would definitely have one in my collection of cars, but they cost too much for what they are plus they are a pain in the *** to work on.

Cool, never knew they made a vert. They are really nice cars, my wife was looking at one. It was stock with 165k miles and it sold for 10k and it needed a bit of work

I like the 3000 GT's but part of the reason I didn't look for one to buy while shopping for a fun second summer sports car last year was the increased costs that comes with buying parts/getting work done on a 3000 GT vs a Trans Am.

Take it easy

Awesome find, I actually saw my first VR4 Spyder in person a few months ago. My girlfriend is obsessed with 3S's and would kill for a Spyder, so we were getting ready to pull out onto the road and I'm like "Hey look a 3000GT, I bet you want it!" then she's like "OMG CONVERTIBLE!!!!" and she knows it's rare as hell so I took off the other way to check it out up close. Pulled up next to the guy at a stop light and chatted for a bit, it was a black/black 6 speed TT car, said he's had it since new and it had like 70k miles on it and he would never sell it. Pretty cool older dude.

People complain the ad in the OP is asking for too much? lol Do you guys know that these cars went for like $70,000 brand new? First fully automatic retractable hard top in the world too I believe.

I personally would probably never own one but if I ever made some good coin I'd snag one for my girlfriend because I'm such a nice guy.

That is pretty damn badass, I didn't know they made a convertible version of the 3000gt.

Although it technically isn't the first retractable hardtop convertible . . . .

The vr4 was a neat car in its day, and pretty advanced. But they were always breaking axles and trannys and they wern't screwed together very well. I almost bought one in '99 but I bought a Audi a4 instead, and that broke too. But they are nice looking cars. Way over hyped and over priced though. For that money you can get an 300z tt or an rx-7, but if you were smart you'd just buy a vette.

The car's not bad looking and they were cool when they came out, but the motors are f'in GARBAGE!! When was the last time you saw one that wasn't blowing smoke out the tailpipe and choking you to death behind it. I don't know what the problem was with those (and most Mitsu's), but their rings, cylinder walls or valve seals must have been made out of butter.

Last time I saw one that wasn't blowing smoke woulda been last summer. My friend has a '95 3KGT w/ like 130K miles, and it runs like it has 50K. It never smokes, leaks, or anything. Also, for it only being a 3.0L V6, that thing is pretty quick. It only lost to my other friends '93 LX w/ crappy full exhaust by a car...not too bad for a V6 and a "boat". I also wouldn't consider it a boat, seeing how it only weighs about 100-300lbs more than an F-body. Would I ever want one? No, probably not, but I don't believe they are junk and have respect for them.

those cars are bad ***

I really really like them and would have considered getting one if they weren't so much money next to an fbody.
