The car has put down over 1500rwhp in 7-second ET drag race trim. The boost was turned down for the 246.2 mph pass (first run off the trailer) and I believe they were making between 1200-1300rwhp.
I believe the next fastest non-Supra entrant (that would be 4th place ) was a Porsche 911 that ran just over 231 mph.
How did everyone else do?

Alright. From what I saw though, there were a couple cars in the 250 range (two exactly), my guess is they are in a different class?
That Supra sounds really bad ***, still a bit surprised they're the quickest with that much power...
This texas mile and top speed stuff looks more and more interesting, the supras seem to really dominate the mile in the street class too.
Anyone know what the automatic record is???

Yep. Callies rod through the block. Time for a dry sump. That engine held up well, though. Same engine as last year. Lots of dyno runs, 1/4 mile passes, and mile passes on that poor little thing.
They may have taken the inner door panels and other items out to save some weight. Supras are pigs. The widebody Supra that also ran 240+ at the event usually cruises around town at a portly 4000#. Yikes. It's full of stereo ****, etc.
I believe they still have an "unlimited" class for the race cars.
Incredible OEM aerodynamics + 1300rwhp + 3000# + 9500rpm at the traps = "Warp speed, Mr. Sulu."

I wish those damn supras were cheaper in the states. The average price is just too much, especially compared to how much they go for on the far eastern front...

I wouldn't say the OEM aerodynamics are incredible. With that spoiler he's around .32-.33 drag coefficient (viper's is worse at .34+ though). That crazy high redline and great gearing is probably more of what puts the supras over the vipers and such.

The drag coefficient doesn't have to do as much once up to those speeds in a mile. The Supra has significantly less surface area up front than say a Corvette or Viper and helps it guide through the air easier. The BL guys are incredible at these cars and they have been doing them for quite a while.
Either way, (Drag Area) both Drag Coefficient AND the frontal area matter at high speed.
Drag Coefficient X Frontal Area = Drag Area
UGH, I can't find the frontal area or better yet the drag area of either the C6 or Supra...
EDIT: the frontal area of the C6 is 22.3 sq ft, but I can't find the Supra's...
Even so, the vette's frontal area is 6.244 (22.3 X .28) so the Supra would need a frontal area under 19 sq ft (unlikely) to have a better drag area
Hell, I can't find a 4th gen's frontal area or DC either.............................
Given all this, it just makes the Supras hitting these incredible speeds even more astounding!!!

They are super nice guys too. I was walking around asking for a hose to syphon out my 93 to put in the 116 and they went through all their gear looking for me! He even took me over and showed me the cars and we talked for like 20mins.
