Default Pics/vids of my SS @ private track rental

Went to the SuperStallions private track rental at Cecil County Dragway on April 25th. Lots of nice cars, and plenty of runs were easy to make...

Was pretty damn hot though...my car ran 1/2 second slower than it did in November. It is running some 17" TT2's and Nittos, instead of the ProStar/skinnies/MT Drag Radial combo it had as well.

anyway...

Thanks! The car definitely likes running in the cold air and with lightweight ProStars better, but I can't complain.

i have some draglites im probably going to put on next week, you got any tips on grinding the rear calipers?? i wish i could take a look at some that have already been modded so i could use that as reference. and they are only 8" wide so im hoping that will require less than a 10" wide rim

The 8's and the 10's both require the same amount of grinding, so you might as well accept that, lol. I've had both on my car and neither had any more or less clearance. Anyway, what I did was jack the car up by the center of the axle, so both wheels were off the ground. Put car in neutral so rear wheels could be turned by hand. After removing wheels, and assuming you have stock calipers, go ahead and put a coat of flat black paint or primer on the face of them. At first you can simply press the Draglite/ProStar onto the wheel studs and rotate it slightly back and forth. This will scrape off the flat black paint, which shows you exactly where to grind. I attached three pics I just went out and took for you, to give an idea what needs to be done. Mine aren't pretty, cuz I'm not into pretty, lol. Besides, I also did the fronts, and after nearly 5 hours of grinding, "pretty" was not the priority, lol.

Thanks. It runs much better with lighter wheels and cooler air, but I can't complain. Nothing's been sacrificed for a slighter better ET/MPH, and that's how I like it.

Yea, that's cool that you ran those times with the heavier wheels
