In the circuit track, here the Z06 came in the Third place BUT the Z06 had the second fastest lap time from the group, Z06 was faster than the GTR and Porsche..etc fastest lap time was by the ferrari.
1. Ferrari RSD 360 >> 2'05"564
2. Corvette Z06 >> 2'05"762
3. Shadow GT-R >> 2'06"385

In the rolling runs, he could have started in 2nd gear (z06) too... Would have been much worse, IMO.

Any idea on the mods to the cars?

The guy in the Z06 wasn't nearly as good at rowing gears as the guy in the 360. The guy in the Z06 also started in second gear on the launch. That thing was dead in the water as far as the powerband was concerned. The GTR took advantage of that launch and the Ferrari and Vette had to put in work to catch up. They were definitely reeling the GTR in though at the end. The guy in the 360 just couldn't work out where to pass the GTR with the power disadvantage. Pretty cool race.
