2002 Ferrari F1 car
It is real. No it is not complete. It ha been updated with 2007 body work. The motor is in Beverly Hills and it's foir sale at $65,000 and does not run. It is basically a shell. You must buy motor, tranny, electronics, and pedals. The price.........$2.1 Million. I was at a local Ferrari store and it just so happened that I was talking with the store owner. That's how I found out that this was for sale.

This chassis number had a recorded top speed of 247mph. There is no tire shine in those. I smeared my hand across one of them to make sure. Owner also says no shine has ever been applied either.

F1 Cars have a niffty launch mechinism, same thing that is in the Bugattie Veyron....put it in gear and it won't move till you rev it past a certain RPM then the Clutch engages and off you go...

you think 6's. IMO, you would have to have your **** on tight in any vehicle to pull a 6. They have the MPH, but I don't think they have the "out of the whole" section covered. They are sick fast vehicles, but I don't think they could pull a 6, again, just my opinion

First, you'd have to spend another cool million on a good running engine and another few hundred thousand on a "properly geared" transmission.
Second, you'd probably shatter everything trying to launch this car at a drag strip since the suspension is set up for a tight road course.
third, the people who have the cash for this thing would let it sit in a garage under a cover rather than rag the **** out of it on a drag strip.
But, I could see a low 7 or so based on the figures that Chevyweatherman mentioned.

Heres some figures I found for the 2006 Renault R26 F1 car with the less powerful V8 motor of around 760hp compared with the earlier V10 with over 900hp
0 to 100 km/h (62 mph): 1.7 seconds
0 to 200 km/h (124 mph): 3.8 seconds
0 to 300 km/h (186 mph): 8.6 seconds*
0 to 100 km/h (62 mph): 1.7 seconds
0 to 200 km/h (124 mph): 3.8 seconds
0 to 300 km/h (186 mph): 8.6 seconds*

Yea, I mean like I said, if there was a way to launch it hard. You are right though, they way they are made it just isn't going to happen I suppose. I would venture to guess that if you gave the F1 mechanics the goal and a few hours to make some adjustments, the darn things would run high 7's at least.

wait a minute doesn't F1 start a race from a stand still? If they do that would make me think that a launch would be pretty important. I would like to see this happen. I wonder what a NASCAR car would run in the quarter? What would a Top Fuel car top out at if they let it go 1 mile? What would a WRC car do in the quarter?

it would be interesting to see one of those run down the 1/4 mile, i think it could defintely be a mid 7 car, but thats IF you change suspension, gearing, etc. plus put on their launch control anymore. those F1 mechanics are the best of the best, and i can see them being more than capable of doing it.....now if only they would, just for ***** and giggles
