I painted my Ford 9" this weekend...
A few things you should know about POR-15:
1- Wear gloves! If you get it on your skin, its not comming off for a week.
2- Buy a bunch of throw-awway brushes.
3- When you close the lid, if there is any paint on the sealing edge of the can, you will NOT be opening the can again.

7th Darkness: Por-15 flattens out really well on its own, and when its finished, it can look a lot like powder coat in some cases. You can see yourself in my crossmember that I painted with that stuff.
Yes its expensive, yes its messy, yes you gotta use plastic wrap between the lid and can or you'll never use it again haha... but its EXCELLENT stuff.
Looks good THE LAST Z! Next time my 12-bolt is out Im going to slather some on.

One other thing to note, POR 15 really doesn't take well to sunlight exposure. I think Black is OK, but I also used silver and it changed color being in the sun for like 1/2 a day. And its starting to rust a tiny bit on the silver painted stuff, think the sunlight messed with the properties of the paint.
This is the truth! I used that stuff on my other car and ran into all of those things. Got paint all over hands, brushes basically cant be used twice, and I had to use a crow bar to get an old can of por 15 open because of paint in the edge lol.

It wont be seeing any sunlight. I might put a 3rd coat on now that I think of it...
Plus, Ive beed doing painting on the side since I was a kid & Ive been waiting for this rear for a long time, so this job was personal.
