You should have at least let some people guess before you gave the answer in the same post as the question lol

I have seen a couple other Hardtops as well. Turned out to be transformed V6's...

Could be a converted formula. Or an LT1 with an LS1 front end.

I would say its a converted formula or firebird. One is because of the hardtop, but two....look at the fog lights. Those arn't stock TA foglights for the 98 and up body style.

I think its photo shopped. It mostly looks that way if you look at the passanger side DRL area, lots of little parts look like they shouldnt be there. Plus the fog lights aren't sunken in far enough.

I think the distortion around the DRL area is where the pic was folded and scanned. You can see the sean all the way up to the top. It would look good with black roof and mirrors like the anniversary.

Yup, look at the picture, a little more than 1/2 way to the right you can see where they chopped the pics together.

IMO, I don't think it's photoshopped. I agree with CZ383 that it is the seem from a magazine or to that sort.

It looks like a seam, agreed. BUT, notice how on the left
side the window has a blue tint to it?

The driver's headrest looks a little funky. Probably from
the two pages in a magazine.

The color thing bothers me tho.

thats from a 98 review of the trans am, which made the cover page as "trans formed". Had a good review on the trans am and applauded the enginers at gm for a job well done and that sort of stuff in it. thats a 2 page shot of the car. no doubt

That car was in C&D I think back in early 98. That had to be a preproduction test mule. It also had a cloth interior.
