Built 306, nitrous, 4.10's, yadda yadda...

Runs low 12's NA & went mid 11's w/ a 125 and a massive traction problem. Trapped just under 130.

how is that thing going close to 130? My buddys 86 hatch with h/c/i 302 with a built c4 and converter and 150 shot went 11.5 at 115 with a 1.5 60ft. A 306 aint pushin that much more air.

Heads, cam, intake & carb set up are the difference. And when I say built I mean forged bottem end with flycut pistons and 10:8cr. Not just salppin on H/C/I.

It is what it is brother. I was there through a lot of the 6 or so months the car was being built, from the engine being on the stand, to helpin tape up & sanding the car. Im friends w/ the previous owner and I know the car pretty well.

Oh I'm not doubting you. I know it's possible, just not commonly seen with a 302 based bottom end. The thing sounds like it's running good tho. What heads are you workin with?

Sounds pretty stout. I had a similar setup in my '89 with a bit more compression (11.8:1)

The heads are- http://www.powerheads.com/e7heads.html

Thats not that uncommon around here. If you know what youre doing its not that hard to get a Fox in the low 12s with a 302/306. It been done many times before where I live. THe car wakes the F up on the juice. That mid 11 pass the previous owner didnt even go to the button until 3rd and it still blew the tire away. Of course this was with the Futura radials that are on the car now. The cars never been on a tire at the track.

I orig wanted something that was "fun" and this is closer to scary. Not that I havent been faster than low 12s, but not in a Mustang. Im used to the longer WB of the F-bodies & older musclecars. These Fox's like to come around on you a lot more and just feel more violent in general.

Cant wait to get to the track this weekend. Anxious to get some seat time...
