OK so I have a question. I am sincerly curious. We have talked about how to pull it out but what I want to know, which method is easier for putting it back afterwards. It seems that the top way has fewer things to connect and line up but tighter clearence. The bottom way would appear to more tricky because you esentially have to align the whole car with the engine along with teh suspension, as opposed with just the engine. These are just some things I think about when I look the the pics. I would never personnaly tackle this. I know I would either kill myself or the car via some painfull mistake. :-)

Out from the bottom...in from the bottom. And contrary to what one guy on SVT said, you dont have to disconnect the A/C. Atleast I didnt have to last time I did it. You can unbolt the a/c and sneak it around. You do have to unhook the brakes, which turn some people off even though bleeding brakes is not only easy, but it ensures you have some new fresh brake fluid. Win/Win.

Ive done it like this many times, and worse conditions than the OP's example. Never an issue, and Ive even done it a couple times without an extra helper. Couldnt do that while taking it out from the top. Well, maybe you could, but it'd be sketchy. I also wouldnt want to try to get those motor mount bolts out with the thing in the car...makes me cringe just thinking about it.

Comin out...The front of an F-body is light enough for two guys to lift it up easily once the motor is out fyi.

Goin in...

Comin back out...

Goin back in again. Yes, I installed it in the dark, outside, with headlights for lighting. Its that easy...

Redsilverado no you cant just leave the wheels on there is nothing to hold the suspension when you drop the k member. You have to have a dolly. And I pulled mine out and put it back in and never had help from anyone til it came time to bleed brakes. It's really not that bad of a job, just work.
