Flywheel wouldn't have helped the pressure plate any, but an SFI bellhousing is an extra measure of protection and built to help contain the explosion. Guy spends cash on an LS7 swap but can't buy a damn bellhousing?

Automatics aren't bullet proof either...

^ Agreed. I've seen a few auto failures where the front drum comes flying. It is not a pleasant site.

This makes me want to invest in an SFI bellhousing right away. I've kind of thought, "Oh, I've only heard of that happening twice." Well, after seeing it that has made up my mind.

What would cause it to shatter like that? A few extreme heat cycles? That sucks.
