I had a chance to meet Balboni, really nice, soft spoken and humble guy. You would never think he drives the way he does by meeting him, that's for sure.

Aha, I always forget how low those things are until I see someone stand next to it.

 

They are pretty low, but Clarkson is also pretty tall. For example, a C5 Z06 is 47.7" tall, the Lamborghini Diablo VT (that car) is only 3.8 inches shorter at 43.9"

Clarkson's old work is great. You should check out his older videos. His work on original top gear is kind of dry somtimes though.
