You can make whatever intake you want. These cars heat soak, anything metal intensifies that.
I know what works and what doesn't. I build these cars professionally, and race/maintain, etc...
No point in arguing whats what, Nobodys oppinion is worth BOO to me on this stuff.
Again, sick video Trust.

I build all sorts of BMWs and Minis. Street cars and race cars. I'm at Watkins Glen right now finishing up the Rolex/Contintal tire series race I crew for.
Dinans intakes are carbon fiber. Thus no heatsoak issues at all. The IAT sensor is also relocated out of the bank 1 MAF and into the lower radiator shroud to keep the DME from pulling timing.
Its like comparing Pacesetter headers to KOOKs or ARHs. Not even close.

I won't argue that the stuff isn't overpriced. I will argue that the proven numbers and know-how of the Dinan company is on par with Pratt/Miller in the GM world. Rediculous.
I've my hand on the "batch of 10 Dinan style intakes" made/sourced by an M5board member. They fit like crap, and the CF work looks like something I'd leave behind in a toilet. Not comparable to the Dinan setup. Never mind the sheetmetal rain deflection system thats included, along with filter outerwears, foglight/intake ducts, couplers, etc.
I do this stuff alllll day long. If you're on a budget, fine. Maybe you don't notice a difference in quality, but I've seen EVERY setup for these cars. None are comparable.

well look at my buddies his name is rhino or something on the m5 forums. his fits perfectly fine he is a perfectionist so it fits good and looks good, may not be cf but he was smart and wat u basically spent on intake he got headers and intake. i do find it funny u are getting so defensive about this very entertaining thx
