i think they were all just fkn idiots. I dont think it was staged. He was trying to pop the hood and poped the trunk. He prolly knows nothing about cars If it was staged why the hell would you toast your clutch and take the chance of tearing something else up.

That is pretty painful to watch.
I watched a guy do that to his tranny at the drag strip. He just got a new 4500 converter in his 440 powered 65 Coronet 500. He was sitting in the water box revving the engine just below the stall speed for what seemed like forever before we ran out and stopped him. There was smoke pouring off of his tranny. We still laugh about it to this day. Against our advice he made a pass anyway. Somehow the only thing he hurt was the converter.

What makes me say that it was staged is that it looks like its happening right outside of a car shop, possibly went in for a clutch change, i mean look at how easily it starts to slip in the first place.
Also, the techs that are standing around don't stop him, or even seem suprised or alarmed.
Second, the guy opens the trunk. If you know how to initiate a burn out you know where the engine is in your Vette, even if the transmission IS in the back.
