Default 2012 Mustang Boss 302 vs 2012 Camaro Z28?!?

Wonder if Ford has finally got a little competition for the Camaro Z28? It's definitely gonna be a challenge for the SS. They're specing it at a 4sec 0-60 time and deep 12's in the 1/4.
Might be time to step up my game a little bit

Should be no problem with the new Z if they rate it the same 556 as in the caddy. hell, the heavy *** caddy can do 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. I don't see why they can't do it in 3.7 if it weighs 2-300 lbs less. Pretty sure it should do a high 11s stock since I have seen stock cts-v do the 1/4 in 11.9 seconds

Not to **** on your Cheerios, but the Z28 is coming out to compete with the GT500... the Boss 302 doesn't really have any competition. Now if the Z28 had used the new (in development) LS5 5.5l V8 that is supposed to be coming out and had more of a focus on keeping the weight low and setting the car up for a racetrack, then yes... then it would be competition for the Boss 302.

The BOSS 302 is a very well thought out stang. It's going to be interesting to see how well it competes with vettes on the track since it seems to me that's the GM target the BOSS is aiming at.

Totally agree with ya man! I think you've got a good handle on the numbers. Guess it'll depend on the goober behind the wheel and whether he can row those gears in the Boss....

This. If the Camaro only has the 556hp engine it's going to have it's hands full with the GT500 that puts out the same power and weighs less. Everyone seems to forget about the GT500 for some reason when making these new muscle car comparisons.
