Nope. I was specifically referring to a Liberty as mentioned above. There absolutely is a clutch. Are you telling me there's no clutch? Did you bump your head?
Not that I've ever owned one, but I know how a Liberty works. A good friend used to run a Liberty in his Outlaw 10.5 car. I'm familiar with the setup.

I think we're saying the same thing anyway...just semantics. Anyway...back on track.

It's definitely not as impressive as really rowing gears when you're running a faceplated T-56 or a proshifted setup.

They probably are all faceplated, but not air shifted. Look at other videos of them and they shift just a hair slower in some.

Liberty calls it a clutchless transmission, you can argue the name with them.

I know it's not too bad when you have a slow car . That's where I ran the fastest time in my old Integra, which was the 2nd fastest ever time for a stock GS-R. So it's not THAT bad.

I realize there is a clutch.
That's just what Liberty calls it/refers to it as.

Second link down on the left hand side, "Clutchless Transmissions".
I agree, it is misleading to those who aren't familiar with them.
I don't know of any sites that give a good explanation on how they work, otherwise I'd post it for those who are interested.
I'd like to see a step by step animation of the shifting process my self - seeing as how I'll most likely never be able to afford one.
...Unless someone wants to purchase a set-up for me?

Regardless they're great transmissions and I'd love to own one...or even have a friggin' vehicle worth putting one in for that matter.
I'll settle for a ride in a car equipped with one?

Props to the driver in the second video, nothin' but sky and bangin' second gear!
Hang'em and Bang'em!
I remember a bunch of drama about his vids... apparently they were sped up. Either way, it's still some gnarly shifting...

The first couple of vids looked like cars from the NMRA class that has to have a 5 or 6 speed in it. (I used to run around with a friend that raced in the NMCA.) They are clutch cars and they do bang some gears. Beleive its called "Real Street"

This is out of the NMRA Rule Book

2: DRIVETRAIN
2.3 CLUTCH
Standard Ford OEM factory-replacement-style single disc diaphragm clutch required. Steel or aluminum pressure plate a minimum of 10.0-inch in diameter is required. Adjustable pressure plates, or long-style pressure plates are prohibited. Clutch operation must be operated using factory style cable mechanism. 2005-up Mustangs using hydraulic clutch actuation may retro-fit ’79-’04 cable style mechanism.

That odd noise is probably a ignition cut via load cell on the shifter allow them to shift without lifting. It is unloading the trans for milliseconds. Our roadrace cars had this feature and that same pop sound....I need a load cell shifter for my faceplated t-56, I don't use the clutch to shift it.

We had sequentianls in our road race cars they are bad ***, I'm surpised that not many use them in dragracing. I guess it's still pretty high dolla stuff.......that vette should've been faster.
