Paul Tracy makes that show watchable.
They did a terrible job on the TV commercial promoting it. The one where he goes 0-165mph or something in a Porsche Panamera. (saying every 10mph interval like a giddy schoolgirl)

Just that one piece made me hate the host/show

What makes the BBC show good is their british wit/sarcasm. Richard would've thrown a joke in there or some snide remark. I didn't hear anything interesting from the US guy aside from how fast he was going.. that's some entertaining television..

Its on in 30 so we'll see.

I cant say I absolutely hated it... If I had never seen the REAL Top Gear, I would probably like it more.

I dont like how they made it basically a knock off. They have a Stig, famous person in cheap car or whatever...that Buzz interview was a joke. Heck they even have a engine block coffee table. Just trying to be too much like the other show. Break out and make it a new show for crying out loud. People will still watch.

Cant stand the cast either. The one guy thinks he's robert deniro with that hideous mole, the fat bearded guy is just...ugh. And tanner. Well...I dont have much bad to say about Tanner. I dont think he has much of a personality..and he's kind of a weeny. He can drive though, thats for sure.

I mean...its still a car show, and it shows the cars being driven hard like they're supposed to be. So ill probably still watch it here and there.

I'll watch it. If you don't compare it to the original, it's not too bad. Given time, these guys will develop their own show personalities. Read earlier someone saying that Rutledge Wood was the James May... I think not. The STIG "Paul Tracy" needs to be built up more into having a legendary persona. The "you'll never see his face or know who he is," just doesn't cover it.

If you compare that episode to Top Gear UK's original episode 1, they are about on par. It's going to feel weird for a while, and the guys need to catch their own persona's. Although, that camera shake was TERRIBLE!!! I mean seriously, wtf was that. I really don't know how they let it get that bad when TGUK never has that problem at higher speeds.

saw the show and had mixed feelings....i wish it would be more technical. i mean, when they ran the mile i really wanted to know what they would run not just what they thought they ran (looking at the speedo)...small things like that go along way imho. humor and persona wise it seems 50/50 i think they need more time lets see how it pans out.

on the good side the show is promising in the sense production values were good.

^If you want more technical stuff look it up online. That **** is boring as hell to listen to in a show.

The way they introduced the Stig couldn't have been much worse, and I don't understand why they have two guys with just about no background in cars on the show. They were all pretty hard to put up with, maybe it will get better but I doubt it makes it past a season or two.

Watched it last night, I like it. It's not the same as BBC Top Gear, but its ok. And Bo Duke is the American Stig.
