Original british one will always be the best in my opinion, but i dont see why it would be a bad idea to make an american top gear though, maybe stig's american cousin will be there (damn u brits for thinking that every american is lazy and fat ... for once we can hear about cars that are actually made for OUR country and not Britain and other Europeans.

Initial reports from finalgear say the hosts are pretty good together. Basically, don't expect it to be British TG and you might like it.

Rutledge Wood does alot of NASCAR stuff on speed channel. He's the "James May" of the bunch. Smart, but a bit weird/nutty..

See exactly, they try to mimic the same characters from the original. This is why it will fail.

I think the sarcasm/cynicism that make the original Top Gear so fun and entertaining to watch are going to be missing in Top Gear USA... American viewers just aren't as appreciate of that kind of comedy.

That, and I doubt they will be able to rip on cars like the UK guys do. I hate all the American shows where even if a car/product is a complete piece of **** all they have are positive things to say about it. I don't like any of the hosts either, Tanner would make a great Stig but he is no TV host.

I hope Tanner hasn't forgotten how to drive without drifting... even on Supercars Exposed, all he ever does is drift.

Ever watched Battle of the Supercars? He does normal driving in that, not a totally bad show as there is not very much talking.

Even on that, as soon as the track curves he puts it a little sideways.
