Wow!! Thanks. The hood was the easy part. Just took two pics of the car with the camera on a tripod. One with the hood up, then the other with the hood down. Then, just pasted the pic with the hood down over the pic with the hood up in photoshop. Set the opacity of the one with the hood down to like 70%, and erased the whole bottom image, except for the engine bay part.

The part that took the most time was blurring the background, and leaving the car in focus, then getting the colors just right on the car. I used a hue/saturation mask layer to do it. All in all, it took about an hour.

Was the car originally maroon? Or was it red?


I don't understand why you needed to adjust the hue/saturation on the car unless you were changing the color of the car.

That's what I was doing. It's originally maroon, but I wanted it to look different. I wanted the background black and white, but once I did that, the car stood out TOO MUCH, so I lowered the saturation on the car a little also.

Hehe, I don't know about that. I'm a newb to photoshop. I haven't even tried to put different rims on a car or anything yet, and that's like 90% of the requests.
