Any one got pic's, or video of 2gen cars with LS,LQ4...L whatever swaps? Turbo car welcomed. I love the new stuff, but I never see 2Gen T/A's like mine with LS swap's.

There was on in Popular Hot Rodding a few months ago. Gold 78 T/A that reminded me of my fathers car. Very nicely done too. I don't know if there are any vids.

Those links are great, but I meet a guy at Carolina Dragway last Thrusday, and he had a Gold 80 T/A with the 18inch snowflake wheels from yearone, very nice car! He gave me a site that was totally amazing www.schwartzperformance.com

So would it be safe to assume that the 2Gen T/A is rare? I see all kinds of Camaro's.

Other then the bandit cars. 2nd gen birds are not that popular. Just like 1st gen birds are not as common and most are restored to stock, compaired to camaros.
There have been a few nice 2nd gen birds in hotrod and popular hot rodding mags lately though.

I like both second gen birds and camaros.

My therory is.
The camaros over shadowed the birds. The camaros kicked *** in drag racing (baldwin motion, yenko, berger, dana, nickie all winning), road racing (smokey unick was winning there) and on the streets. You had the baldwin motion, dana chevrolet, dealer built cars, along with the copo cars from chevy.

The birds were know on the road corses and unless that's what your into it most people didn't know how much performance the birds really had and how well they turned corners for there time compaired to camaros during the second gen cars production.

Smokey and the bandit made firebirds a house hold name and created a huge following because it is kinda the last performance car of the 70's. Those of us that were growing up during that time have that car burnt into our brains along with the general lee. The 6.6L TA's were the car to have in the early back in the early 80's and is still a highly saught after car as long as it has the pontiac 6.6.
